30th - Gooch has gone. Am working hard. Stayed in all evening sewed and learnt to machine. Read 'Autocrat at breakfast table'. To bed at 10.30.
31st - rose at 7.55am. Read a little autocrat. Letter from Edgar Peter. So glad. Met Vincent 12 accidentally. To Endeavour with Kate. Convention (?) Echo. Round Cockerton with Vince and Kate.
2nd - had a glass of milk at office. Met Vince and Kate at 6.30pm.
